As my husband and I work towards becoming debt free and getting rid of excess I am becoming more and more aware of how society has become a slave to Capitalism and manipulated by marketing and advertising. Consumerism has become a full-contact sport, a hobby, a panacea for whatever ails us. We are sicker, fatter, poorer and unhappier than ever. We must stop being sheep led by a capitalistic shepherd whose only concern is the almighty dollar and their bottom line.
